Since the 2011 TRENZ conference, Choice Hotels has enjoyed a solid phase of expansion in New Zealand, with the addition of six new properties.
 
The latest property to join the Choice Hotels group is the Quality Hotel Marlborough in Blenheim, which came on board today [Editors: Tuesday 1 May] and is the first ever Choice Hotels property to open in the stunning wine region.
 
Just five minutes’ riverside walk from Blenheim town centre, Quality Hotel Marlborough boasts 28 rooms with super king size beds, flat screen TVs and SKY. Onsite facilities include the signature Nikau restaurant with alfresco dining options, a bar and guest lounge, conference and event facilities and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
 
Other properties to have joined the group in the last year include: the Quality Inn on Fenton, Rotorua; Comfort Inn Cascades, Taupo; Quality Hotel Emerald, Gisborne; Comfort Inn Kauri Court and Econo Lodge The Villas which are both located in Palmerston North.
 
Sharing the good news with the industry and media, Choice Hotels will again have a presence at TRENZ this year, with Aileen Cobern, general manager sales & marketing, David Simpson, senior sales manager inbound & groups and Peter Doherty, New Zealand senior sales manager, in attendance.
