Help with business funding for R&D
West Auckland businesses looking for research and development funding can now talk to a specialist in the field.
Grant Hemmings has joined Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) as an R&D specialist, based in its Henderson office.
ATEED, a council controlled organisation, aims to develop tourism, deliver events and improve the economic performance of the region and international awareness of Auckland as a desirable place to visit, live, work, invest and do business.
ATEED is a Regional Business Partner for the Ministry of Science and Innovation delivering matched funding to Auckland businesses undertaking R&D projects.
With more than 26 years experience in senior management roles, Grant Hemmings has recently completed a contract with the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) as a senior investment manager. He believes his previous roles in business development in the private sector and sector specialist roles with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise will serve him well in this new position.
“R&D is crucial for business innovation and I’m delighted to join the ATEED ranks,” says Mr Hemmings. “I’m looking forward to working with the abundance of businesses in Auckland West that are delivering cutting edge products and ideas. With R&D funding their products could get to market faster, which will help their individual business grow and also positively impact the Auckland economy.”
ATEED Manager Business Growth – West, Zane Taylor says: “Grant’s level of expertise working with MSI investment programmes and his broad overall business experience will be an asset to the ATEED team and the local community.”
