NZ Tax Refunds rebranded earlier in the year creating the “WooHoo” moment as a new brand device for television, radio and digital campaigns to sum up that small unexpected moment of joy that people have when they go through the process of getting a tax refund.
Cilla Hegarty, the Founder and Chief Executive of NZ Tax Refunds Ltd says, “It’s really satisfying to help put that money back into the pockets of thousands of Kiwis. Over 93% of our customers have found out they’ve overpaid their tax in the last 5 years.”
Mrs. Hegarty expects there will indeed be many “WooHoo” moments as the average refund is around $460.
“Anyone that hasn’t already applied for a tax refund since 1 April 2012 can also apply now to see if they have a tax refund due for the 2012 tax year, or in fact, any tax year from 1st April 2007,” she says.
Mrs. Hegarty founded NZ Tax Refunds in 2008 out of a desire to make it simple for people to get money back from the IRD. She had the idea of making it easier for clients to find out if they were due a tax refund while working in her accounting business.
