EasiYo’s success in Italy recognised at 2012 Export Awards

EasiYo’s success in Italian market recognised at 2012 Export Awards

EasiYo was one of the three finalists for the BDO Deal of the Year award, at the Air New Zealand Cargo Export Awards 2012, held in Auckland. This is recognition of EasiYo’s outstanding planning and execution, leading to export success in the Italian market.

Auckland, Friday 22nd June 2012 – EasiYo, the manufacturer and exporter of the highly successful EasiYo Yogurt Maker, has been recognised at the Export Awards for capturing the Italian market with their unique and highly successful EasiYo product. This time last year EasiYo won the QBE Exporter of the Year Award for the under $35 million sector.

The team at EasiYo have been growing their export markets around the world, with over 75% of their revenues now coming from off shore. Their efforts have been highlighted by the success of the EasiYo brand within the Italian market.

Planning for entrance into the Italian market began in June 2010 when an opportunity with the QVC shopping channel was presented. Within a few months EasiYo overcame a number of hurdles and developed a range, in multi-language European packs, in time to meet the first order received in September 2010. Within 21 months the Italian market has sold €3 million of EasiYo products.

“Our approach to the Italian market has been a spectacular success and I am extremely proud of the whole team, particularly our international sales manager Richard Trussler who led this plan. EasiYo is experiencing success born of a carefully thought out international export strategy and we can be proud of our accomplishments. Being selected as a finalist for the BDO Deal of the Year is a great achievement for us and we are thrilled about it” says Paul O’Brien, CEO, EasiYo.

Mr O’Brien goes on to say “With this success in Italy and our efforts ramping up in China, we are on track to reach $50 million in revenue in the next few years, up from $25 million three years ago.”

EasiYo is a New Zealand export success story and with this level of performance, in the current economic climate, it makes you wonder just what is possible with more favourable economic conditions. EasiYo have all the pieces in place to grow here and overseas and it looks like there is no stopping them now.
