Alison’s Pantry helps fuel Black Sticks towards success

Alison’s Pantry is proud to be part of the ‘team behind the team’ as the Black Sticks prepare to compete against the best teams in the world later this month, fuelled by the Alison’s Pantry nut range.

Both New Zealand men’s and women’s hockey teams have been training vigorously in preparation for the world’s largest sporting event. As part of that preparation a healthy diet, including an unlimited supply of Alison Pantry nuts and dried fruit, give them all the energy they need to step up to the international stage.

Just a handful, or 30grams, of Alison’s Pantry’s nuts is recommended each day as part of a healthy diet.

The teams have included nuts and nut blends in their diets in the lead up regime to fuel players with the necessary vitamins, protein, fibre, iron and antioxidants that deliver nutritional goodness to the body during gruelling training sessions.

Men’s midfield, Phil Burrows, says; “A handful of nuts are a favourite training and pre-game treat because they are convenient, nutritious and taste so good. I find that they provide the extra energy I need to get me through the match.”

“We really appreciate the support we’ve received from Alison’s Pantry,” adds women’s defender Clarissa Eshuis. “There’s always a fight for the cashews which seems to be the players’ favourite,” she adds.

Kevin Hawkes, Prolife Foods General Manager - Grocery and Technical, says Alison’s Pantry is immensely proud to support the Black Sticks as they gear up for the Games.
