Beat the Excise Tax Rise: Gull discounts fuel by 5c a litre
Auckland, 25 July 2012 – Gull today announced a 24-hour discount of 5c a litre on all fuel grades commencing at 7am on Thursday 26 July 2012.
Graham Stirk, Gull Retail Manager, says that this is an ideal opportunity for motorists to beat the impending excise tax rise.
“Excise tax increases by 2c a litre on 1 August. Gull is about providing value to the Kiwi motorist and this is an ideal way to beat the increase,” says Stirk
While excise tax applies only to petrol, Gull will be discounting all fuel grades (including diesel) until 10am on Friday 27 July.
At the majority of Gull outlets where Gull controls retail prices, prices are as follows:
| Fuel Grade | Unmanned Site | Manned Site |
| Regular (91 octane) | $1.969 | $1.999 |
| Force 10 (98 Octane) | $2.099 | $2.129 |
| Low Sulphur Diesel | $1.379 | $1.409 |
Motorists can make use of fuel dockets from Countdown to increase savings further at the manned site.
