It’s time for the rest of the country to be let in on one of Ponsonby Roads best kept secrets. Rob’s Patisserie has become a local pastry necessity, serving delicious French style pastries, gourmet goodies, pies and special occasion sweet treats over the past 6 years. 2012 has been the year to add to their fabulous menu a Gold Medal Winning Pie.
First time entrant Helena Robben co-owner of Rob’s Patisserie snatched up the Gold Medal for the category of Café Boutique for her tantalizing Caramelized Pork Belly and Coriander Pie.
The Competition was tough with a record number of 4,500 entries from over 400 bakeries nationwide. Judged by a panel of 18 industry heavyweights, including celebrity chef Al Browne; judges tasted hundreds of pies across 12 categories to finally crown each of the category winners and the over all Supreme Pie Champion. This year NZ Bakels introduced the exciting new category “Café Boutique” opening up the competition to the growing amount of café’s serving a variety of tasty gourmet pies directly to the public just like Rob’s Patisserie.
So pop in and pick up one Ponsonby favorite pies, but now they’re award winning Pies!
Rob’s is located on the corner of Ponsonby Road and Picton Street; baking 7 days a week from 6am.
