Slingshot Speeds Ahead Of The Rest

Media Release

Slingshot Speeds Ahead Of The Rest

Slingshot’s Broadband services have been named amongst the best in New Zealand in the latest Truenet broadband speed tests.

Independent testing from the broadband monitoring company has shown that both Slingshot’s capped and unlimited broadband services are now amongst the fastest in the country. The results show across the board improvements in both surfing and speed consistency.

Slingshot General Manager Scott Page says that sizeable investments by the company in network efficiency and performance have paid off for Slingshot customers and have allowed the ISP to compete heavily on performance with some of their larger competitors like Vodafone, Telecom and TelstraClear.

“As part of our customer-centric approach we’ve invested a large amount of resource into improving bandwidth and caching on the Slingshot network. Basically this means a consistently faster and more reliable service for our customers.”

The Truenet results have highlighted Slingshots ongoing commitment to improving their user experience and providing the best value homeline and broadband services in New Zealand.

Slingshot is not only leading innovation in the NZ market, but proving it can tackle the larger providers by offering consumers faster broadband at even cheaper prices. This aligns with the company ethos of always challenging the status quo and using innovation to bring home grown Kiwi products to households across the country.

Page believes the recent results are indicative of Slingshot’s forward thinking attitude toward both customers and products.

“We want to provide our customers with the best value products and services in the market. A large part of this is ensuring that our network is consistently reliable and that we provide New Zealanders with the download and surfing speeds that they require, no matter what time of day or how much bandwidth is needed,” says Page.

Even Slingshots broadband UNLIMITED plan has proven to outperform some other ISP’s standard capped plans. The hugely popular UNLIMITED plan has shown overall speed increases that occasionally better TelstraClear’s, Vodafone’s and Orcon’s capped plans and highlight the real differences in network capacity.

Slingshot’s continued investment in its core network has not only paid off for its customers but is starting to gain them a reputation as the ISP of choice. The company has been named one of five global finalists at this year’s World Forum Broadband Awards for its unique broadband UNLIMITED plan. The awards are held in Amsterdam later this month and showcase innovative telco services from around the world.
