SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Celebrates 12 Years Of Entertaining Queenstown

Twelve years of entertainment and fun were celebrated at SKYCITY Queenstown Casino on Friday with cash draws, entertainment and delicious house-made cup-cakes.

Established in 2000, Queenstown Casino and its Wild Thyme Bar and Restaurant has become a leading entertainment destination in Queenstown and was recently named the Large Enterprise Hospitality and Accommodation Business of the Year at the 2012 Westpac Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Awards.

SKYCITY Queenstown General Manager Michelle Baillie said the business had built a secure and active position in the Queenstown community, employing more than 60 staff (including three founding staff members) and with a track record of supporting a wide range of community activities and events through its community trust and various sponsorships.

“The team works hard to deliver a broad-based entertainment venue with quality products and consistently great service. We are committed to the Queenstown community and we are proud of what we have achieved over the last 12 years of entertaining Queenstown.”

Since 2002, SKYCITY Queenstown Casino has donated more than $1 million to some 330 community groups in the Queenstown Lakes region through annual grants distributed through its SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust. This year a total of 45 recipient groups benefitted from $96,251 distributed by the Trust.

“We are passionate about our business and we are committed to entertaining and supporting Queenstown for many more years to come,” said Ms Baillie.
