Plantæ launch brings organic skin care dream to fruition

Plantæ launch brings ‘second generation’ dream to fruition for Nelson’s Carol Priest

Nelson’s Carol Priest has announced the launch of her new certified organic skin care company Plantæ, building on the success of her highly-respected natural cosmetics range.

Plantæ, which is Latin for ‘plant kingdom’ has been certified organic by BioGro, New Zealand’s leading organic certifier.

Two of Carol’s daughters, Janelle and Fiona, also work with her in Plantæ. “I started making natural skin care products in 1988 and the opportunity to now launch a ‘second generation’ company that makes certified organic skin care products with my daughters is wonderful,” says Carol Priest.

One of the most difficult aspects of the Priest family’s new venture was choosing a name for their company. “We chose the name Plantae because it reflected the wonderful range of plant-derived ingredients which we use and the science –based knowledge behind our formulations and production processes. Each product is thoughtfully and carefully formulated to work using methodology informed by decades of knowledge and experience. We also have a real commitment to sourcing our key active ingredients from local producers.”

BioGro certification distinguishes Plantæ from other products, says Plantæ’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Janelle Priest. “BioGro’s internationally-trusted logo appears on the front of all Plantae products. This guarantees that Plantae products have been produced to an exceptionally high standard and is a guarantee that each Plantae skincare product contains pure, authentic, certified ingredients and that the highest organic standard in New Zealand for health and beauty products has been met throughout the entire production process.”

Each Plantae product has a minimum of 95% organically sourced ingredients and all ingredients are 100% natural. This aspect of the Plantæ range has already attracted huge interest from export markets, especially in Asia, Europe and North America.

The high quality of Plantæ’s products have recently been recognised by the UK’s influential Beauty Bible which has offered to feature Plantæ’s ‘Rich Cream Cleanser’ on its blog at beautybibleloves.com and has also offered to trial Plantæ’s range in the next year’s edition of The Green Beauty Bible.

The Plantæ ranges that are currently available are:

• The Purify Range (formulated to work for oily/blemished skin types)
• The Balance Range (formulated to work for normal/combination skin types)
