The Australian-born Brit, best-selling author, artist, colour expert and paint pioneer launches her must-have-now decorating and interiors products across five Australian states and North and South islands of New Zealand this week.

By leading the decorative painting revolution over the last 20 years, Annie Sloan has become perhaps the world's most respected expert in decorative paint, colours and techniques.

Sloan's visit to Australia last month brought back many of her childhood memories in colour.

"I was born in Sydney on the harbour in Cremorne and then later lived about 30 minutes north of Sydney until I was 10 years old, when my family took me kicking and screaming to live in England.

"Early memories make a lasting impression. I remember well the old buildings, ironwork and lovely verandahs.

"Most of all what I remember is the light. Childhood was very free and I spent a lot of time dreaming aimlessly in the bush near our house. "My childhood home was covered in Gauguin and Breugel prints. My Father loved colour and talked about it a lot," says Sloan.

Following the success of her recent number-one-Amazon-ranked book, the self-confessed independent thinker and barefoot lifestyler is a key figure in the global painted furniture revolution with more than 600 independent and personally hand-picked stockists worldwide.

Her highly anticipated arrival into the Australian and New Zealand marketplace adds a burgeoning lineup of stockists to her brand's already impressive figures.

Stockists will be carrying Sloan's signature Chalk Paint(TM) Soft Wax, Pure Bristle Brushes and Craqueleur finish, with more products to be introduced later in the year. Sloan's latest book, Colour Recipes for Painted Furniture and More will be available in May 2013.
