USave Honoured by Business And Community Shares
New CSR Group to Recognize Community Leaders
5 APRIL 2013, AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND. USave.co.nz, an innovative online shopping site that helps charities, clubs and schools fundraise, has been nominated to receive a “Good Business Egg” award by BACS, or Business and Community Shares. The awards ceremony, sponsored by The Stanley East Company and Cadbury, will be held at The Department of Conservation in Wellington on April 11th.
BACS is a new organisation founded by Julie Donvin-Irons that facilitates community and business relationships to assess and improve corporate social responsibility strategies and benefit the welfare of everyday New Zealanders. BACS, supported by The Stanley East Company, has already attracted 55 organisations to develop a “hub” where interested groups can exchange “information, skills and wisdom.” Nominations were generated when 66 New Zealand companies were put through their paces on their commitment to the community without their knowledge.
Community organisations have said which are the best New Zealand businesses to work with.
With over 200 charities, clubs, schools and non-profits signed on, USave is the largest fundraising portal in New Zealand. As a unique challenger in the online shopping and auction space, USave itself is a “hub” designed to benefit many worthy causes and the greater New Zealand community.
USave was nominated alongside such prominent businesses as Contact Energy, Fonterra, New Zealand Post, and ANZ.
The company is looking for investment capital and is
poised to capture a percentage of the New Zealand online
retail market, currently valued at over $2.9 billion and
growing at approximately 12% per year.
