Kidicorp Buys More Centres
Kidicorp, the largest provider of early childhood education, has agreed to buy Kiwicare’s Auckland based early childhood centres with locations in Avondale, Papatoetoe and Mangere East. Kiwicare provides preschool education and after school care for more than 900 children.
Says Wayne Wright, owner, “ Kiwicare's philosophy of Healthy Bodies, Educated Minds, Successful Futures mirrors that of Kidicorp. Our vision is ‘to work in partnership with teachers and parents to enable children to reach their learning potential.’ We feel very strongly that the better prepared children are before school the greater chance they have of making the most of school.”
Kiwicare present owner, Heather Anderson, will work with Kidicorp management to ensure a smooth transition.
Kidicorp has built seven centres throughout the country in the past 12 months adding 570 licensed children places. New centres include two in Flatbush Manukau, Grey Lynn, Panmure, Wellington and two in Invercargill. Another centre in Johnstones Road, Otara, and one in Kaikohe are due to open next month.
In late 2011 Kidicorp acquired 123 ABC branded centres. It has more than 240 early childhood centres throughout New Zealand and provides education and quality care to more than 18,000 children. The company employs over 4,000 people.
