New Directors andChair-Elect appointed to Kahne Board

Kahne Animal Health (Kahne) today announced the appointment of non-executive Directors Chris Kelly and Al Monro to its Board. Mr Kelly has also been appointed Chair-Elect.

Acting Chairman Mark Stuart says the Board welcomes both appointments.

“Mr Kelly and Mr Monro bring strong commercial and governance experience to Kahne at an important time for the company as we commercialise our biotelemetry solutions, which automatically monitor the health of dairy cows,” said Mr Stuart.

Mr Kelly has extensive board and executive experience in the agricultural sector. He has held the role of Chief Executive at Landcorp Farms, one of New Zealand's largest farming businesses, since 2001 and will retire from this position in August 2013.

Mr Kelly currently holds directorships with Penguix New Zealand Farm Management, AgriOne (Chair), FarmIQ, and is a member of the Massey University Council.

Prior to Landcorp, Mr Kelly held executive positions with the New Zealand Dairy Board and practiced as a veterinary surgeon early in his career.

Mr Monro, formerly Chief Executive of optical touchscreen company Next Window, is an experienced technology executive with a successful track record in high-growth technology companies

He has a number of advisory and directorship positions with expansion-stage technology companies, including Phitek Systems and Optima Corporation, where he helps them to establish strategies for global growth. Previously Mr Monro spent 18 years with IBM New Zealand and Asia.

The appointments came into effect on 20 May 2013,with Mr Kelly formally assuming the Chair position next month.
