Kidspot.co.nz, New Zealand's leading parenting website, today announced the winners of Kidspot’s Best of Awards 2013, the definitive list of the best parenting products as voted for by New Zealand mums and dads.

With more than 36,000 votes received across the 22 categories it was a hotly contested year.

Now in its second year, the awards are 100% determined by New Zealand parents. Discover the best baby products in 2013 that mums love including baby formula, prams, as well as other family favourites such as family holiday destinations and the best family cold and flu product.

The awards are conducted in two phases:
1. Parents nominate their favourite products in each category, and the top 5 products are shortlisted;
2. Parents then vote for their favourite within the top 5 for each category.

“The Kidspot Best of Awards is the definitive product guide for parents as voted by parents,” said Heidi Boulger, General Manager of Kidspot NZ. “We received an overwhelming number of votes for this years Awards as well as gaining some fascinating insights into the products New Zealand mums and dads value, from old favourites to the latest products on the shelves. We couldnt be happier with the results and congratulate all of the winners.”

Old time favourites still dominate. Lego which has been around since before 1950 was voted „Best School Age Toy Brand. Mums loved that it was a product which lasted from their oldest child to their youngest. It shows that kids, although very technology savvy, still loved to spend hours on the floor building and imagining their masterpieces.

Mum of 3 Stacey Bodley says “Lego has remained a favourite for all three kids. Its funny even though they have taken to technology like ducks to water they still love nothing better than to spend hours making their Lego creations. Its so durable, and its a great group activity to get all three kids playing harmoniously together”.
