Takeovers Panel launches A Basic Guide
Takeovers Panel launches A Basic Guide for Shareholders about the Takeovers Code
The Takeovers Panel has
published shareholders guidance today, in a booklet called
A Basic Guide for Shareholders about the Takeovers
Code. This is an easy to read Guide for retail
investors who are already shareholders in New Zealand
companies or who are thinking about becoming a shareholder.
The Panel also published a series of seven Fact-Sheets, each one taking up a particular topic about transactions that are regulated by the Takeovers Code and that shareholders may find themselves dealing with. For example, there is a Fact-Sheet about company buybacks, one about allotments of new shares etc. Three of the Fact-Sheets deal with different aspects of company takeovers.
These publications are all available for downloading from here: the new Shareholders’ page on the Takeovers Panel’s website.
Companies, Financial Advisers and other advisers are welcome to distribute them to shareholders and to link them on their own websites for easy access by current or potential shareholders.
