Te Matatini Congratulates Selwyn Parata On Appointment
Te Matatini Executive and National
Committee today congratulated Selwyn Parata on his
appointment as Chair of Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti
Porou.
“On behalf of the Executive and National Committee as well as the wider Te Matatini whānau around the country, I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Selwyn on his appointment,” said Te Matatini Executive Director, Darrin Apanui.
“Selwyn’s leadership has
been instrumental to Te Matatini since he joined us in
2008. He has shown great fortitude and insight in his Te
Matatini role and his unique skill-set will be invaluable to
Ngāti Porou whānau whānui.”
Mr Parata was appointed Chair following a vote by Board members yesterday.
He has been Executive Committee Chairperson of Te Matatini, since 2008.
Selwyn will hold his position until the four year term of the current elected representatives ends in November this year.
