LK Open a New Store in the Heart of Queenstown

LK has celebrated its 40th – store, that is – with a record-breaking site in the heart of Queenstown. Drawing locals and visitors alike, the smart new setting signals yet another success story for this retailer on the move.

It’s heaven-sent for international tourists short on time, with its overview of New Zealand wines encompassing a snapshot of more than 25 Central Otago producers and four local craft beers. Stocked all year round by bottle, monthly feature beers, such as Queenstown Brewers Steam Brew, give customers the chance to top up on tap their store-bought, two-litre, refillable glass siphons.

Informed staff add to the uncluttered atmosphere of the shopping experience, with the varied product range also offering spirit, cider and non-alcoholic choices. Regular tastings with winemakers in-store and a growing LK Craft Beer Club add to the vibrancy of the new space, which has attracted record sales since its December opening.

Says store manager and hospitality stalwart, Justine Bamber, “With its great parking and a drive-through option, the central location makes it popular with customers. It’s a very inviting store.”

LK Queenstown follows hot on the heels of the Stonefields launch in Auckland last year, as well as refurbishments in seven other stores, including LK Buckhams at Arthurs Point, Queenstown, LK Paeroa (previously a Golddiggers), LK Rotorua and LK Hornby in Christchurch.

LK’s development plans are ongoing with additional store refurbishments planned around the country and a stronger focus on digital platforms to sell directly to the market. This includes an innovative new website to be launched later this year.
