First Training Graduation in Christchurch

First Training Graduation in Christchurch

PrintNZ will host the first of this year’s Apprentice Training Graduation ceremonies in Christchurch at the Cardboard Cathedral on April 16.

As well as being recognised by their industry peers in front of fellow employees, employers, family and friends, these graduates will become the first in New Zealand to receive new medals created specifically for the print industry.

All industry personnel are invited to celebrate with the graduates – some of whom will go on to be further recognised as Apprentice of the Year semi-finalists and finalists. Announcements will also be made on the Training Company of the Year, Workplace Trainer of the Year and Diploma in Print Management Trainee of the Year.

PrintNZ general manager Ruth Cobb says this year everyone in the print industry that has completed a training programme will be recognised.

“This is an exciting initiative aimed at celebrating and rewarding those who are achieving in the industry, and everyone is invited to share in that experience,” says Ms Cobb.

“A unique skill set is required to produce the broad range of products delivered by this sector and this is an invaluable opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the people and businesses that will ensure print remains a strong and vibrant industry.”

The graduation will commence at 4pm and is expected to be completed by 6.30pm in order to allow graduates to further share the experience with friends and family.

The second graduation will take place the following week on April 22 at the Heritage Hotel in Central Auckland.

At the end of each of the graduations there is an opportunity for photographs with graduates and for them to mix and mingle with industry friends.

Special presentations will also be made to:

• the Diploma in Print Management Award finalists and winner

• the 2014 Training Company of the Year and Workplace Trainer

• the top 12 apprentices across all programmes and the announcement of the five Apprentice of the Year finalists, who will then attend the prestigious Pride In Print Awards on May 1 in Wellington where the Apprentice of the Year will be announced

All graduates are offered invitations and a small number of additional tickets are available to purchase for industry personnel interested in attending this special event.
