Holden teams up with one of New Zealand’s top drivers

Leading golfer Ryan Fox to teach lucky Kiwis how to drive like a pro

Two-time PGA title winner, pro-golfer Ryan Fox is back in the driving seat today in his new role as ambassador for Holden New Zealand.

Holden’s history with golf is long and proud, and the partnership builds on the relationship developed with Fox during the Holden NZPGA Championship in March, says Marnie Samphier, GM of Marketing at Holden New Zealand.

“We are delighted to team up with someone of Ryan’s calibre. It was a natural fit for him to be our newest ambassador,” she says.

To celebrate, Holden is giving one lucky Kiwi the opportunity to drive like a pro – both on and off the golf course.

#DriveLikeRyan launches today and will see one New Zealander and a mate enjoy a round of golf and lunch with Fox, the country’s second highest ranked male golfer.

In addition to swinging into action on the green, the winner will get to drive Fox’s favourite vehicle, the top-of-the-line Holden Commodore Redline, for a day.

“I am excited to have joined the Holden team as an ambassador,” says Fox. “I first met the team at the Holden NZPGA Championship earlier this year. They are a great bunch of people and I also really enjoyed getting on the race track in a Redline with Holden ambassador Greg Murphy.”

“The Redline is a fantastic car to drive, a performance car with all the bells and whistles - a joy to drive, plus it fits at least four golf club sets in the boot so I can take my mates for a round of golf.”

Fox is looking forward to giving the #DriveLikeRyan winner insight into professional golf.

“It’s less glamorous than what most people think it is. I am not a golf coach but I can definitely give some tips and ideas on simple things to improve their technique.”

To #DriveLikeRyan visit the Holden NZ Facebook page from 10am today, enter the hashtag and tag a friend to go into a random draw. Full terms and conditions are on the Holden NZ Facebook page.
