Two years on the road and a third the cost of a diesel to run.

A six month snapshot of operations shows the ZEV 9000 New Zealand designed and manufactured electric truck is proving its worth through reduced operating and maintenance costs, averaging 1/3 the energy cost of the equivalent diesel vehicle.

Quiet running, with exceptional mid-range power, and travelling up to 150k under normal operating conditions on a single charge and over 200k with opportunity charging, the battery electric vehicle also addresses climate change issues zero carbon-gas emissions.

As of 10 March 2015:
• Distance travelled - 40,071 kms
• The battery pack has delivered up 27,693 kWh of energy (27.693 MWh)

In a s six month snapshot of the ZEV 9000 it:
• Travelled 16,041 kms
• Recovered 18.24% of its energy from regenerative braking
• Averaged 0.58 kWh per km
• Required only 2% of its total energy to operate the compactor

Specifications:
• Maximum laden weight (GVW) - 9,000 kgs
• Motors - 2 x TM4 liquid cooled three phase radial flux permanent magnet motors
• Combined Motor power 74 kW sustained, 160 kW peak
• Combined Motor torque 130 Nm sustained, 340 Nm peak
• Transmission - ZEV EPU4 with integrated Power Take Off (PTO)
• Battery capacity - 104 kWh, comprising 108 x 300 Ah cells
• On-board battery charger - 8kW single phase
• Power steering - ZEV electric over hydraulic power steering
• Headlights – Hella LED
• Compactor - 5m³ electronically controlled hydraulically operated rear paddle wheel compactor
• Control electronics including battery management - ZEV EVNet with Wabco ABS
