Fashionista on trend for retail crown?

Fashionista on trend for retail crown?

This time around, talented all-rounder Jess Pulham of Carvin Streetwear in Gore might just have the style to win New Zealand’s prestigious ServiceIQ Retail Professional of the Year Award 2015. It was revealed last night that the boutique manager, who got tantalisingly close to the prize last year, is back in line to win as Lower South Island regional winner.

A passionate young retailer, Jess has impressed the judging team with her wide range of expertise and know-how across the business.

ServiceIQ Retail Sector Manager and awards judge Clare Savage says: “She’s a dynamic and proactive manager with great skills in sales, marketing, stock buying and product knowledge.”

“She also has a great command of social media and uses new technology to continue to build this popular retail business.”

Jess credits her achievement to having a highly supportive employer and a great opportunity to earn and learn in a real environment. She has gained all of her qualifications in the workplace, starting in sales and progressing into management and marketing.

She says: “Thanks to my employer and ServiceIQ, on-job training has been an important part of my career development, and I continue to learn lots of important skills that are essential to success.”

For Jess, a top performing retail professional means “passionate people who enjoy what they do, go the extra mile and think ahead for customers, staff, and the business.”
