$5255 for community groups in latest KCE Heartland funding

$5255 for community groups in latest KCE Heartland funding round

Eight King Country community groups have received funding from KCE totalling $5255 in the company’s latest Heartland funding round.

The successful groups applied for KCE Heartland funding in July 2014 and have recently received grants ranging from $450 to $1000.

KCE community relations manager, Helen Peacock, said all successful recipients undertake projects that align with Heartland’s core values.

“We received more than 30 applications from community groups across the King Country in the July funding round.

“As per usual, selecting funding recipients was challenging given the high quality of applications. Ultimately, we have selected projects that best align with Heartland’s core values of keeping the community safe, healthy, beautiful and connected.

“The Heartland Community Fund was established to help as many groups as possible who are doing great work in our communities. We encourage those that missed out, or are eligible for a grant, to apply in November.”

July was the second of three annual Heartland funding rounds, held in March, July and November.

November Heartland applications open on 1 November 2015 and close on 30 November 2015.

Last year was the Heartland Community Fund’s inaugural year and $18,701.70 was distributed to 28 King Country community groups across the region.
