Pact West Coast lead agency for Heartlands

Pact West Coast lead agency for Heartlands

Pact West Coast is now the lead agency for the Hokitika Heartlands Centre.

Heartlands Centres give people in rural towns access to government services and the opportunity to meet face to face with government agency representatives.

Pact has been awarded the contract to run Heartlands in Hokitika and has moved into the centre’s Tancred Street premises. The move comes as Work and Income have ceased their operations from the centre. All other Heartland’s government agency partners will continue to offer services at the centre.

Pact West Coast general manager Glenn Murtagh says Pact was pleased to be awarded the lead agency contract. He hopes other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) will also be interested in using the premises. Government agencies use the building at different times on different days so there is scope for NGOs to use it in the same way.

“We’d welcome them coming to talk to us if they are interested,” Glenn says.
