New Zealand Psychologists Board supports “Psychology Week”
The New Zealand Psychological Society are currently promoting “Psychology Week” (9 - 15 November 2015) as an opportunity for people to think about living well and to learn more about what Psychologists can offer that could help them achieve this goal.
The Psychologists Board support this positive message, and want to assure New Zealanders that they can access Psychologists’ services with confidence. As the regulatory authority for the profession, the Board has systems and standards in place to ensure that only competent practitioners are registered as Psychologists, and that they maintain competence throughout their career.
Should a psychologist practise incompetently or unethically, the Board can be notified and are able to follow up assertively to ensure that any problems are identified and addressed appropriately. Details about making a notification can be found on our website: www.psychologistsboard.org.nz.
We encourage all New Zealanders to attend the events the Psychological Society are sponsoring in their part of the country during “Psychology Week”, and to consider how psychologists could help them and their communities to “live well”.
