Orion Health expands management team due to global growth

Auckland, New Zealand – NZX listed company Orion Health is expanding its strategic management team due to global growth, with the recruitment of a new Chief Information Officer (CIO), Vice President (VP) Marketing, North America, and Managing Director, Canada.

As Orion Health’s new CIO, Johan Vendrig brings with him an impressive level of health IT experience. Vendrig was previously the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for HSA Global and spent nine years at Auckland District Health Board, ultimately in the role of CIO, and then two and a half years at HealthAlliance as General Manager, Information Services. A key part of the Orion Health role will be ensuring sound, effective systems are in place to support the organisation’s business transformation programme.

Vendrig says of his appointment: “Orion Health is a company I have come to know very well throughout my career. It’s a real Kiwi success story and an organisation I am proud and excited to be working for. I am looking forward to being a part of its future success.”

Orion Health’s new Managing Director for Canada, Susan Anderson, is an accomplished e-health strategist with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare informatics. Most recently, she was the Assistant Deputy Minister and CIO for the Health Information Technology and Systems Division at Alberta Health, where she played a pivotal role in transforming Alberta’s healthcare system into one of the most digitally connected in North America.

Anderson says of her appointment: “I am excited to join the Orion Health Canada team and help our clients exploit the latest advancements in population health management. Robert Pepper joins the company as VP Marketing, North America. Pepper’s experience in the healthcare technology and software communications industries spans more than 25 years and across more than 50 countries. Prior to joining Orion Heath, Pepper served in a marketing executive capacity in healthcare for VISICU, Philips Healthcare and SoftMed Systems, among other technology companies. Pepper will be helping Orion Health to strategically target the North American market during a time where the healthcare sector is at a point of pivotal change.
