Strong Base of Business Enterprise in the Wellington Region – Recognised at 2015 Business Awards

Wellington Zoo Trust was named supreme business award winner at the Wellington Region Business Excellence Awards held in studio 8 at Avalon Studios, Friday 6 November.

Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Chief Executive Mark Futter says hosting these annual awards is always a pleasure and gives light to the show casing of many of the unique businesses throughout the region. “The standard was very high across all categories which included a number of special awards among them a Mayoral Award given by Hutt Valley Mayors Guppy and Wallace, which went to Duncan McLennan of J & D McLennan Ltd.

Mr Futter says he was very pleased with the standard of the entries this year and “is a great opportunity to encourage and acknowledge business excellence across the Wellington region to further stimulate economic growth, the participating businesses are great examples of the talent we have, coupled with the drive and enthusiasm that is alive and well throughout the Wellington Regions business culture and community,” he says.

The awards were presented at a black tie dinner held at the Avalon Studios attended by businesses through to community leaders with both Local and Central Government well represented. The Hon Craig Foss Minister of Small Business delivered a magnificent key note address that resonated well amongst all in attendance concluding with presentation the Supreme Award on the night.
