Man O’ War Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2015
Man O’ War Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2015 wins two major olive oil awards
Not only has Man O’ War Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2015 been named Supreme Champion in the Royal Easter Show Olive Oil Awards for the second year in a row which is unprecedented in the history of this competition, Man O’ War has also won Olives New Zealand’s trophy for the Best in Boutique Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2015.
Man O’ Wars olive oil is produced solely from olives grown in groves which spread across the coastal hillsides of the Eastern end of Waiheke Island. Planted in 2003 and 2004, the 800 plus trees have been selected from tradition European varieties including Frantoio, Leccino and Koroneikei.
The 2015 harvest at Man O War produced a small but high quality crop resulting in exceptional oil full of natural aromas and flavors. Feedback from the Olives New Zealand judging panel of six trained and experienced international and New Zealand olive oil tasters praised the oil saying it was highly complex yet harmonious oil with tastes of cloves and cut grasses.
