CareerOne to shake up New Zealand recruitment market

Leading Australian job search site, CareerOne, will launch in New Zealand today aiming to transform the recruitment experience for companies and candidates.

CareerOne is one of the largest and fastest-growing Australian online recruitment businesses with 1.5 million unique monthly visitors.

CareerOne chief executive, Ben Foote, said the current experience for candidates was out of step with what candidates wanted and the way businesses are trying to find talent.

“Major recruitment sites have not kept up with the times. Job hunters are looking for much more than just a searchable jobs board when they go to a recruitment site, and businesses want to better promote who they are and what their culture is.

“The CareerOne website (www.careerone.co.nz) reflects that candidates are increasingly looking for the right company with the right culture as much as they are looking for the right job. CareerOne’s world-leading matching technology recommends the right role for them at that company.

“Users can still search for jobs but the results will appear alongside relevant information and answer many of a job seeker’s questions before they apply.

“Companies can use the site to better tell their story and showcase their company’s culture through rich content.”

Mr Foote said the decision to launch in New Zealand reflected the changing Australian and New Zealand employment market.

“Trans-Tasman traffic stopped being one way some time ago and job seekers and companies increasingly see Australia and New Zealand as one job market. In 2015, the number of people moving from Australia to New Zealand overtook the number of people moving the other way for the first time in 24 years.

“There are still barriers to this job market being a single market in practice and we want to help break down some of those barriers.”
