Appointment of New Zealand Regional General Manager

Appointment of New Zealand Regional General Manager

Mantra Group has announced the appointment of Scott Wallace to the role of Regional General Manager - New Zealand.

Mr. Wallace’s appointment comes as Mantra Group works to further strengthen their presence within the New Zealand market.

With 30 years’ experience within the hotel industry, most recently as Wyndham’s Director of Operations – Queensland, Victoria & New Zealand, he has an excellent understanding of the New Zealand hotel market. In his role at Wyndham, Mr Wallace oversaw the management of 12 resorts and chaired eight Body Corporate committees, providing an operational background that sees him ideally positioned for the role of Regional General Manager – New Zealand for the Mantra Group.

As the Independent Director of Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism from 2011 to 2014, and a Board Member on the New Zealand hotel council, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.

“Scott is well versed in the operations of strata title hotel management, having also worked previously with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, which operate under a similar management structure. We are delighted to add his expertise to our New Zealand team”, said Mark Hodge, Mantra Group’s Director of Resort Operations, who Mr Wallace will report to.

Mantra Group currently operates one BreakFree Hotel, two Mantra Hotels and seven Peppers Retreats & Resorts throughout the North and South Island of New Zealand.
