Queen of Property says “no thanks” to ‘Real Housewives'

New Zealand’s Queen of Property says “no thanks” to starring role on ‘Real Housewives of Auckland’

Nicolette (Nikki) Connors, Queen of Property and Principal of Propellor Property Investments, is one of the high-profile women being pursued to star on reality TV programme ‘Real Housewives of Auckland.’

“Unfortunately, I do not see myself in a role that is portrayed and promoted on this type of programme. I’ve worked my whole life, often holding down multiple jobs at the same time, and because of that hard work I have built up my own multi-million dollar company, which helps thousands of ordinary New Zealanders to secure their financial futures by investing in property.”

Connors went on to say, “Although flattered to be considered, especially as I know and like some of the women currently in discussion with the producers of the show, I prefer to spend my time helping Kiwis like me chase their dreams of home ownership and a comfortable, mortgage-free retirement.”

Connors is passionate about helping others to break the cycle of debt and believes in ‘paying it forward.’ Three years ago, she aligned herself with Habitat for Humanity — an international not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to eliminate poor-quality housing and homelessness by building adequate and basic housing. Every year, Connors travels to developing countries and helps to build homes. A self-described “first-class brick layer,” Connors says that her failures have defined her, and added to her current success.

Connors hopes that others will find the same level of success for themselves and shares her experiences in forthcoming book, A Fabulous Failure: How New Zealand’s Queen of Property Turned Failure into Fabulous! Her book will be published by Primrose NZ Press on April 11, 2016.

Nicolette Connors was born in Auckland. After studying advertising and marketing at Auckland Technical Institute, she became one of the top advertising creatives in New Zealand. Connors worked in film and television in London for over ten years and in that time founded epicurean magazine Entrée and award-winning publishing house Citron Press. In 1999, she was nominated for the Veuve Cliquot UK Businesswoman of the Year award and shortlisted for UK Publishing Woman of the Year. Connors divides her time between Auckland and Christchurch.
