New leadership named for OMV New Zealand

Gabriel Selischi to take over as Managing Director OMV New Zealand Ltd

Peter Zeilinger to join OMV Petrom’s Executive Board in Romania responsible for Upstream

New roles effective 1 April, 2016

Gabriel Selischi has been named as the new Managing Director of OMV New Zealand Ltd and Senior Vice President responsible for managing OMV Group’s activities in the Australasian region.

Mr Selischi’s appointment follows Peter Zeilinger’s appointment as a member of the Executive Board responsible for Upstream activities for OMV Petrom in Romania.

Peter Zeilinger has been leading OMV New Zealand since April 2011. During this time, the company implemented major exploration programmes in the GSB and in Taranaki and developed into one of the leading explorers in New Zealand.

In 2013 OMV acquired and refurbished the FPSO Raroa and during 2014/15 completed the redevelopment of the Maari field, which recently marked its 30 millionth barrel milestone.

Mr Selischi has a degree in electrical & mining engineering and started his professional career with Schlumberger in France. He has held a range of engineering, petroleum engineering and consulting roles internationally.

For the past 10 years Mr Selischi has worked with OMV Petrom, most recently as a member of the Executive Board responsible for Upstream activities. He has worked and lived internationally in France, South Africa, Algeria, Angola and, most recently, in Romania.

Mr Selischi will take over from Mr Zeilinger on 1 April, 2016 and be based in Wellington.
