The systematic improvement of ACC scheme welcome by business
The Accident Compensation Corporation package unveiled today aimed at modernising the scheme’s processes and customer service will be widely welcomed, said Auckland Chamber head Michael Barnett.
“While 5 years to deliver all the improvements that have been flagged might seem too long, at the same time given the deep-seated and long standing issues associated with ACC a systematic overhaul of the scheme makes sense.”
As recently as last year research showed that just 26 per cent of businesses believe ACC understands their needs, and just 24 per cent believe ACC provides good value for money.
The measures to reduce the amount of form filling required by businesses, especially SMEs, and to introduce a more customer-responsive service will be especially welcomed by business.
