phil&teds recalls early production dash™ v5 buggy frames

phil&teds voluntarily recalls early production dash™ v5 buggy frames

Juvenile products company, phil&teds, is voluntarily recalling early productions of its dash v5 buggy - replacing each with a free new frame.

The move comes following three overseas warranty reports indicating damage to the buggy’s main hinge during unfolding - resulting in a potential pinching hazard. No pinching has occurred.

Chief Executive, Campbell Gower, says “while not all of the buggies in the dash v5 series are affected, all owners should check their buggy’s serial number. If found to be in the recall range, discontinue use and register for a free replacement frame.”

He says “customer safety, and their piece of mind, is paramount to us – and in the juvenile products industry, constant update is essential. We’re always working to improve the function and safety of our products. This case is no different.”

The dash v5 was released in August 2015. Users are encouraged to visitphilandteds.com/support for more information regarding production number identification and registration.

The upgraded frame will come with easy in-home assembly instructions, including details on how to remove and swap over your buggy’s seat fabric and wheels. All consumers who registered their dash buggy will be contacted directly.

Mr Gower says the word recall may sound scary to some, but it’s a term that covers a variety of actions to improve products.

“From physically reclaiming product, to issuing free, in-home consumer parts, whichever approach is used, the result is better product in the hands of consumers. That’s a good thing for our customers - and that’s why we’re here.”

He says “we’re proud of our proactive attitude to safety. It’s a principal focus for us based on candour and accountability. Our learnings from this will certainly benefit future projects.”
