Emirates Team New Zealand partners with HP NZ to drive performance in 35th America’s Cup

Auckland, New Zealand, May 17, 2016 —HP New Zealand has announced a technology partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand to help the team drive peak performance at the 35th Louis Vuitton Americas Cup in Bermuda in 2017.

HP will provide its premium computing devices including the industry-leading HP ZBook workstations and EliteBook series, as well as performance engineering solutions to Emirates Team New Zealand. It will work with Emirates Team New Zealand engineers to help maximize the team’s performance throughout the America’s Cup World Series in the lead-up to Bermuda.

“To have HP join us as an official supplier is a landmark step for the team,” said Emirates Team New Zealand Chief Executive Grant Dalton. “We have an onshore group of performance engineers and software experts constantly assessing our boat and its external conditions for slight gains, which could shave crucial seconds off as it moves around the track. HP’s technology and expertise will enable us to bring our skills and experience to the fore.”

“New Zealanders love the America’s Cup and we are excited about HP's partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand. HP has always been at the forefront of innovation, and our technology will allow Emirates Team New Zealand to build a dynamic environment to enhance its team's performance both on-and-off the water,” said Maddy Simpson, Head of Marketing, HP NZ.
