Innovative Queenstown Company Wins NZ Fine Food Award

Innovative Queenstown Company Wins New Zealand Fine Food Award

Queenstown based food company, RebelFood, has won a coveted ‘Most Innovative Artisan Product’ award at the 2016 Fine Food New Zealand Awards.

The awards are designed to recognise real innovation by companies in food, beverage, packaging, equipment and other related sectors.

"It's an amazing feeling to win. We hadn't expected to take the award amongst so many incredible New Zealand artisan products, so to be named the 'Most Innovative Artisan Product' was a bit of a shock,” says RebelFood creator Joe Swatland.

RebelFood launched their all-natural ‘NutriBombs’ less than 12 months ago after a year of intensive research and development. Containing some of the world’s most unusual superfoods such as Camu Camu and Chlorella, they are the most naturally nutritional snack product currently on the New Zealand market.

“It's a testament to the hard work we have put in to creating something that is built for the sole purpose of benefiting our consumers in every way possible and is now being recognised by our peers as well, something we find very humbling,” says Joe.

RebelFood ‘NutriBombs’ contain no additives, are dairy, refined sugar and gluten free and are ideal for anyone wanting a healthy and nutritious snack. Joe says the company’s vision is to revolutionize the global health snack industry.

“ The interest in NutriBombs has been rapid, particularly amongst sports people and those following a clean, healthy lifestyle. We are now focusing on expanding distribution into the North Island via supermarkets, health and sports stores, gyms and yoga studios and increasing our online sales model so anyone, anywhere can purchase these amazing superfood snacks.”

The Fine Food Innovation Awards are held every two years in conjunction with New Zealand’s biggest trade event for the influential, multi million-dollar food industry.
