New Zealand’s largest business travel company expands across the ditch
New Zealand’s largest business travel company, Orbit World Travel, has opened its doors in five cities across Australia, extending its existing presence to the benefit of its customers.
From 4 July 2016 Orbit World Travel will now have offices in Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth, as well as the existing nine offices in New Zealand and the recently opened after-hours office in London.
Orbit World Travel Marketing Manager Paul Halford says Orbit World Travel and Australian partner, World Travel Professionals have worked together for many years but more recently an opportunity was taken to strengthen the trans-Tasman proposition in the business travel market.
“The chance to establish a leading trans-Tasman business travel company attracted all owners across the business with World Travel Professionals opting to become part of the Orbit World Travel group business. As a result we now have fourteen Orbit World Travel offices across Australasia” Halford says.
“We also appreciate that New Zealand and Australia are different markets with their own unique needs, so while we will operate as one brand we will continue to acknowledge that both New Zealand and Australian business travel needs differ. Our client’s want their business needs to be tailored to the market that they do business in”.
World Travel Professionals Executive Director Michael Chase-Smith says that as Australian businesses change and grow to meet their customers’ needs, World Travel Professionals recognised an opportunity to expand its business to better support clients. “In today’s fast evolving business world, bringing together business travel needs in both Australia and New Zealand will offer our clients some major benefits, primarily, a single source provider delivering consistency in both markets. We are really looking forward to sharing the opportunities with our clients”.
The Orbit business proposition has always been about providing our clients with tailored, personalised business travel experiences and solutions – understanding that no one company is the same. Orbit and World Travel Professionals coming together is a significant move for the business travel market across NZ and Australia” Halford says.
A key feature of Orbit’s trans-Tasman offer will be the ability to bring together products, services and solutions to offer a greater level of consistency of service, technology and client management for companies operating in both markets.
Orbit World Travel now boasts combined annual sales revenue of $500 million NZD, over 1,200 clients, 330 staff, over many years of travel management experience.
“Having a combined suite of innovative proprietary technology and travel solutions, including clever, leading edge third party solutions we can ensure our travellers continually receive unique and personalised travel experiences, every time they travel.
“The opening of the Australian offices as well as our London office, is the result of our continued company growth and our commitment to our clients and their needs - something we are very excited about.”
