Greens manufacturing focus welcomed
Greens manufacturing focus welcomed
ManufacturingNZ Executive Director Catherine Beard says the proposal to establish a Minister for Manufacturing would be helpful in achieving more focus on the sector.
"Manufacturing is a critical component of the New Zealand economy," Catherine Beard said.
"The manufacturing sector is contributing strongly to national economic growth, and is responsible for much product and business innovation.
"New Zealand’s
positive export performance relies greatly on Kiwi
manufacturers.
"Our manufacturing sector includes many
successful companies processing and manufacturing food
products, fast-growing technology companies and
others.
"These areas would benefit from a greater public understanding and having a Minister responsible for this sector would help achieve this.
"Manufacturers would welcome the focus on this important sector."
