QJumpers celebrates its 10th birthday

Kiwi recruitment software company QJumpers celebrates its 10th birthday by launching in the US and finding a fresh new look

After a decade of pioneering business recruitment in New Zealand, QJumpers has made the bold move to expand into the US market.
From its start-up days in the Bay of Plenty, QJumpers has grown to provide innovative recruitment software and services to some of New Zealand’s largest companies and educational institutions, as well as developing technology to help large and small businesses develop rigorous and successful recruitment strategies.
So to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the company is entering the competitive US recruitment market, where it expects its “can-do” Kiwi attitude and personable approach to customer service will set it ahead of the competition.
Key to QJumpers’ decision to expand is the current US trend of de-centralising recruitment so hiring managers have a more hands-on approach to finding new talent, shortlisting and vetting candidates – something that has been common in New Zealand for years and something for which QJumpers software and services is designed specifically.
General manager Simon Oldham said the major difference between the US and New Zealand was that jobs in the US receive an average of more than 200 applicants per role whereas in New Zealand it was around 20.
“QJumpers system is designed around simplicity, customisation and intuitive functionality. Big global recruitment systems are built for big applicant volumes with few recruiters whereas our platform, with its intuitive jobs dashboard and simple functionality, focuses on making it easy for the hiring manager to use and manage their own applicants – even if they only have to log in two or three times a year.”
And Simon is certain that QJumpers’ approach to business should make them a hit in the States.
“Getting to know our clients, calling on them and helping them throughout their recruitment process has been built into QJumpers DNA right from day one. When we do client surveys, it is one of the best things our customers love about us.
“What we are going to keep is the New Zealand culture of doing business where we put people first. New Zealand businesses are good at customer support and the relationships they build with their clients whereas one of the biggest complaints in the US is not receiving the support and service to back up the software.”
As part of the 10th birthday celebrations, QJumpers is also improving its website for its New Zealand clients.
As well as having fresh, new branding, the website has been designed to help businesses find the latest recruitment technology and HR services from the ever-expanding suite of resources available.
Simon says technology is changing so fast in the recruitment space that it was important to have a website that reflected current trends.
“One of the unique ways in which QJumpers works is that, yes, we watch what other companies are doing but we then try to find solutions in our own way. We ask what challenges the customer wants to solve and then do it just how the customer wants to do it. We also like to think of concepts that no-one else has looked at, so we need a website that explains how those concepts have evolved.
“And because we’ve now been up and running for a decade, we felt it was time for a new look. So we’re changing the branding to reflect our people culture, our innovation and our image as being an energetic bunch of people. Of course there will be no change to our great service, only the way we look!”
