Clarity2016 – Conference to improve communication

Clarity2016 opens in Wellington – An International Conference to improve legal, government and business communication

Amora Hotel, Wellington, New Zealand 4 to 5 November 2016

This week Wellington will host experts from around the world at a conference to examine the importance of clear communication in law, government and business.

Clarity2016 is the first plain language international conference to be held in New Zealand. It is an opportunity to hear from international speakers as well as showcase the world leading work being done in this area in New Zealand.

Speakers from around the world will be attending the event, including: Chile, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, United States and Canada.

Retired Australian High Court Judge Michael Kirby and New Zealand Solicitor-General Una Jagose will open the conference on Friday. Examining the challenges and importance of plain language in the law and highlighting regional expertise in the area.

‘Clearer communication in law, government and business makes a fairer and more transparent system for all. Reducing complaints, disputes and ultimately saving money’ said Joh Kirby, Clarity President.

Conference organisers Write and Clarity hope that having the conference in Wellington with highlight the benefits of effective communication.
