Bell Gully wins Deal Team of the Year at the
2016 New Zealand Law Awards
Bell Gully won six awards at the New Zealand Law Awards held on Thursday 17 November, including Deal Team of the Year for the firm’s corporate team.
“The award recognises the hard work and dedication of many people across the corporate team and adds to the successful year the firm has had,” Chairman Chris Gordon said.
Chris was also named Managing Partner of the Year – an award he is humbled to receive after only two years at the helm. “This is very much a reflection of a team effort across the firm, both legal and support,” Chris said.
The firm won four awards for deals it has worked on: the sale of Vector Gas won M&A Deal of the Year; GE Capital’s sale of its consumer finance business won International Deal of the Year; and the Solid Energy voluntary administration won Capital Markets Deal of the Year and New Zealand Deal of the Year.
“These results are enormously pleasing and show the commitment we have to achieving the best results for our clients,” Chris said.
We would like to congratulate all other finalists and winners, including: ANZ, winners of the Financial Services In-House Team of the Year and In-House Team of the Year, and New Zealand Superannuation Fund for its ‘highly commended’ in both of these in-house categories.
