NOW Recognised as Innovation Leader at Broadband Awards

NOW Recognised as Leader in its Field at National Broadband Awards

Friday 3 November 2017 – Local phone & broadband provider, NOW, was last night recognised as an innovation leader amongst its peers in New Zealand’s inaugural Broadband Compare Awards held in Auckland.

As a Finalist in three categories, NOW took home the prize for Best Broadband Innovation for its recently released in-home tech support service and was also named a Finalist for Best Regional ISP and Best Customer Support, and was a contender for the People’s Choice Award – a testament to its success when competing against much larger telco’s in New Zealand for the Awards.

On receiving the Award CEO Hamish White said it was a privilege to have been recognised for what has been over a decade of commitment to carving out a unique point of difference in a highly competitive landscape.

“For us, these Awards were about more than just taking home the certificate. They testify to our purpose as a Company – to push the boundaries because customers deserve more.

“Being recognised amongst our peers in the industry showcases that we are in fact delivering on that – by pushing innovation boundaries, pushing customer service boundaries, and indeed pushing the boundaries despite being one of the country’s smallest ISPs.”

White said being named as the winner of the Best Broadband Innovation Award recognised NOW’s recent launch of its Techspert service across its service regions – being the first telco in New Zealand to offer services beyond the router.

“With more homes streaming and with multiple devices, we recognised people still weren’t sure how to get the best out of the technology that surrounded them, or who to go to for help. We knew there was no single company helping people in a comprehensive way, yet the demand and the need for a techspert service was there – so we pushed some boundaries and launched the service customers deserved to have.”

In its inaugural year, the Broadband Compare Awards covered every aspect of the New Zealand broadband market. Organisers said winners were based on a combination of criteria, including consumer surveys, reviews, decisions from their expert judging panel, as well as broadband speed and reliability date that is collated from thousands of speed tests throughout the year.

The Awards ceremony was held at the Sapphire Room in Ponsonby, Auckland.
