Creative businesses under-charging for their expertise
Kiwi creative businesses under-charging for their expertise
It’s hard to put a value on creativity. How can I tell if your creative service is worth more than mine? And yet, while it’s easy to spot good design, it is much harder to put a $dollar value on what it’s worth.
Pricing expert, Blair Enns, is on a mission to correct this imbalance with his new book, Pricing Creativity.
“It’s my goal to increase the profits of the world’s independent creative firms by more than $100,000,000 a year, and I’m confident Pricing Creativity will do that.”
Blair believes that by applying his Pricing Creativity principles, rules and tips, the average firm could easily increase their profits by 5% of their current revenue.
For example, a firm with $1m in revenue should be able to add a minimum $50,000 to their bottom line, with many adding much more. Some of Blair’s creative firm clients have increased revenue by more than 50% through his techniques and simultaneously improving profit margin from 4% to 45% in just one year.
He will be teaching his principles in Auckland during October and is running a free preview webinar on 24th May 2018 in which he will talk about breaking the constraints of the billable hour and how to win new business without giving away creative work for free.
