Altano New Zealand Withdraws Application To Acquire Matamata Veterinary Services
Altano New Zealand Limited (Altano) has formally withdrawn its application to the Commerce Commission for clearance to acquire 100% of the shares in Matamata Veterinary Services Limited (MVS).
The Commission had agreed with Altano an extension until 22 August 2025 by which to make a decision.
The Commission’s case register has been updated.
Note:
Altano is a subsidiary of Altano International GmbH, a global horse veterinary company incorporated in Germany. In New Zealand, Altano operates a horse veterinary practice in Canterbury, and two in Waikato: the Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre and the Cambridge Equine Hospital.
MVS is a horse veterinary practice located in Matamata.
We will only give clearance to a proposed merger if we are satisfied that the merger is unlikely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.
