Te Pae Christchurch’s Camila Andrew Named New Zealand’s Emerging Business Events Professional
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is celebrating another exciting achievement after Event Operations Manager Camila Andrew was recognised as the winner of the Emerging Business Events Professional Award at The Bizzies 2025 – Aotearoa Business Events Awards on Wednesday 26 November.

The Bizzies, New Zealand’s first awards programme for the business events sector, brought together 270 industry leaders from across the country. Supported by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), the inaugural awards event celebrated excellence, innovation, and impact across seven categories, from venues and suppliers to event organisers, destinations and individuals.
Te Pae Christchurch General Manager Ross Steele says the entire team is exceptionally proud of Camila's achievements and the recognition she has received.
“Since joining Te Pae Christchurch Camila has enjoyed a strong progression through the organisation, which is a great credit to her and reflects her dedication and commitment to professional development and the industry,” says Ross Steele.
“Camila’s work ethic, commitment to delivery for our clients and support of her team have been frequently recognised within Te Pae Christchurch so it is wonderful she has now been recognised on the national stage.

Mr Steele says the awards are an important way to recognise the industry, and in particular, the professional development pathways that exist to enable New Zealanders to build a rewarding career in the events sector.
“Camila is a fantastic example of the talent we are nurturing and developing in this industry, who are delivering world-class events to visitors from around the country and across the world.”
“Characteristically, Camila has credited her workmates with this award, saying how proud she is to be part of such an amazing team – something that reflects the extraordinary team culture built over the last three and a half years since opening.”
Camila’s awards nomination was also accompanied by letters of support from a number of clients, who praised Camila’s professionalism and high level of engagement when coordinating their events at Te Pae Christchurch. Camila’s team received a 95% positive client rating during the 2024/25 financial year.
“We are honoured to provide a platform for people like Camila to launch what I’m sure will be a long and successful career in the industry. With emerging leaders like Camila, we can be confident that the business events industry in New Zealand is in very good hands for the future,” says Ross Steele.
Te Pae Christchurch was also a finalist in two other categories at the Awards, Excellence in Environmental Sustainability and Outstanding Business Events Partner and congratulates all the finalists and winners of The Bizzies awards.
