The Finance and Expenditure Committee is calling for submissions on the Budget Policy Statement 2026. The closing date for submissions is 11.59pm on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.
The Budget Policy Statement sets out the Government's priorities for Budget 2026. It explains the approach being used to develop the Budget and the broad parameters within which decisions will be made.
The Finance and Expenditure Committee will be holding a 45-minute hearing with the Minister of Finance on the Budget Policy Statement at 8.15am on Wednesday, 28 January 2025, followed by a 45-minute hearing with the Treasury on the Half-year Economic and Fiscal Update.
