One Powerball Player Wins $10.2 Million

14 January 2026

It will be a night to remember for a lucky Powerball player from Manawatū-Whanganui after winning $10.2 million with Powerball First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from Manawatū-Whanganui.

The prize is made up of $10 million from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto First Division.

Tonight’s winner is the first Powerball multi-millionaire this year, and the win comes just weeks after a lucky Auckland player won $5.5 million.

Four other lucky Lotto players will also be celebrating after winning $200,000 with Lotto First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw. The winning tickets were sold at New World in Whitianga and on MyLotto to players from Auckland, Waikato and Canterbury.

Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over tonight and will be $1.5 million on Saturday, meaning it will be a Must Be Won draw. In a Strike Must Be Won draw, if no single ticket wins First Division, the prize pool is added to the next highest division with a winner.

Anyone who bought their ticket from New World in Whitianga or on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLottoApp.

Players can phone Lotto NZ on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.

Due to the cricket coverage on TVNZ1, this Saturday’s live Lotto draw will be aired on TVNZ2 at 8pm.
