Raise A Glass To Local: New Zealand Cider Day Returns On March 14
The Fruit Wine and Cider Makers Association (FWCMA) is calling on retailers and hospitality venues nationwide to get behind New Zealand Cider Day on March 14 - a celebration of locally crafted cider, the growers and makers behind it.
New Zealand Cider Day shines a spotlight on the quality, diversity and regional character of our domestic cider industry. From orchard to bottle, New Zealand cider reflects provenance, seasonality and craftsmanship - values that continue to resonate strongly with today’s consumers.
The Association is encouraging retailers to create in-store features, themed displays and tastings, while on-premise operators are urged to showcase cider flights, food pairings, tap takeovers or meet-the-maker events. The day provides a strong platform to champion local producers, drive customer engagement and highlight the vibrancy of the category.
Falling in the heart of harvest, March 14 is a fitting time to celebrate the fruit, the craft and the community behind New Zealand cider. The FWCMA encourages the trade to back their local producers and help consumers discover a cider that’s new and exciting to them.
