March 2, 2026 – Stonewood Group, a leading New Zealand investment and operating group, today announced the successful sale of its infrastructure services businesses, RCR Infrastructure and Dataguard, to the international renewable energy company, Xinyi Energy Holdings Limited (HKEX: 03868.HK).
The divestment marks a significant milestone for Stonewood Group, concluding a successful seven-year period of ownership and strategic growth. After acquiring RCR Infrastructure in 2019 and subsequently merging it with Dataguard in 2021, Stonewood Group created a national leader in critical power and infrastructure services.
"We are incredibly proud of the journey we have undertaken with RCR and Dataguard," said John Chow, Co-Founder and Director of Stonewood Group. "In seven years, we've grown from 6 branches to 9 and from 65 staff to 150. We have integrated these businesses, expanded their national footprint, and positioned them at the forefront of New Zealand’s future energy and infrastructure landscape. This sale aligns with our strategy of developing high-performing assets and crystallising their value at the opportune moment. It is gratifying to see these New Zealand businesses transition to a respected international-listed company, which is a testament to the value and capability we have built."
Under Stonewood Group’s ownership, RCR and Dataguard have become key players in providing essential services for data centres, commercial facilities, and the renewable energy sector, including solar and EV charging solutions. The sale reflects the significant capabilities and market leadership position the businesses achieved during this period.
