BNZ Helps Make Switching Home Loans Easier With Home Loan Switch
BNZ today launched Home Loan Switch – a refinancing solution that makes it easier to switch your home loan to BNZ without the legal fees or fuss.
Through BNZ’s accredited home loan experts, eligible customers refinancing their home loan directly to BNZ no longer need to engage their own solicitor, saving up to $2,500 in conveyancing fees.
BNZ takes care of the required legal documentation, removing some of the cost and complexity from what can traditionally be a stressful process.
“Switching your home loan to a new bank shouldn’t feel harder than it needs to be,” says BNZ Executive Customer, Product and Services, Karna Luke.
“BNZ’s Home Loan Switch not only helps customers save money when refinancing, it also simplifies the process, helping reduce some of the friction and stress.”
“With a record 41% of new mortgages taken in December 2025 being customers switching loan providers, we know home loan customers are shopping around,” says Luke.
BNZ Home Loan Switch is designed for simple refinancing only*. The proposition is completely optional, giving customers more choice, and they can still choose to pay for their own lawyer if they want to.
Luke says, “If a customer’s refinancing needs are more complex or they require legal advice, engaging a lawyer will still be necessary. But for many home loan customers, it will mean fewer hurdles to jump through, and more money left in their pocket.”
“At BNZ, we’re focused on delivering marketleading experiences and expertise for our customers. BNZ Home Loan Switch is just one more way we’re delivering innovative solutions that make banking easier for our customers.
“The Government and Commerce Commission have a clear goal of improving competition in the sector and making it easier for customers to switch is one way we are supporting that.”
*Simple refinancing includes individual or joint ownership (no trusts or companies), residential property or bare land, up to 2 securities. Additional eligibility criteria apply.
